About me
Kris Bell (she/they) is a career educator and researcher examining pedagogy, texts, and media through critical, feminist, and queer theoretical lenses. Their research agenda spans critical literacy, teacher education for social justice, and applications of interdisciplinary, visual, multimodal, and queer theoretical/ methodological approaches to education research. Kris is currently a student in the joint doctoral program in education at San Diego State and Claremont Graduate Universities where they are actively exploring creative strategies to critique and disrupt the (re)production of oppressive social norms (patriarchy, heteronormativity, racism, capitalism, etc.) in schooling at all levels.
